oUR METHODS
At Chivo Coffee Co., we've walked the hills of small El Salvadoran coffee farms. We've picked beans from the shrubs and learned from the farmers. Seeking the highest quality coffee, we've worked with local roasting businesses to roast and package coffee at the origin. This not only minimizes the time from farm to cup, but also guarantees freshness with every sip.
We have grown our production processes from the ground up, to allow for online shopping and subscriptions. You can also find Chivo Coffee at many local retailers and markets in North Carolina.

Blue Harvest
At Chivo, we work with the Blue Harvest program. Their process is to identify farmers applying regenerative agricultural practices who need a buyer. We select coffee farmers producing at a quality standard and offer stable above-market prices to build long-term relationships with farmers.

Blue Harvest contributes to restoring land water resources in the coffeelands. By applying Blue Harvest practices, coffee farmers increase their yield, quality, and income.

El Salvador is a small country with a large population, whose water resources are threatened by destructive agricultural practices. Blue Harvest works with partners in key watersheds to protect springs and streams that supply water to hundreds of rural and urban communities.
a family affair
From Our Hearts to Your Cup
Adam and Jake have been together since the time in their mother's bellies. Having grown up as close friends in North Carolina, they grew aligned interests and passions. Both developed a strong love for Hispanic cultures taking Adam to El Salvador and Jake to Mexico while in college.

Adam soon laid down roots in El Salvador with his wife Terri and their daughter Maya. Chivo Coffee Co. then began as a passion project, and evolved over time to what it is today.
​
Jake and Adam reconnected over their many similar interests and love for coffee years later. Since then Chivo has developed into a family affair, connecting friends from El Salvador to North Carolina.
